Power Rogers L.L.P. Partner Joseph Balesteri has been elected a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers. This significant achievement speaks to the professional success Joe has attained over his nearly 25-year career, and the respect and positive reputation he’s cultivated among his peers.
Created in 1965 as a global organization of legal professionals, the ISOB is comprised of top trial lawyers from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and a number of nations abroad. Membership among its ranks is limited and its focus is promoting an effective and impartial justice system for all.
Lawyers cannot apply for inclusion in the ISOB, and instead must be nominated, evaluated, and elected through voting by current Fellows. They must also meet stringent qualifying requirements, including at least a decade of professional practice, proven results litigating cases in the courts, and the highest Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell® (AV Rating), among others.
The ISOB is unique in that it also gives considerable weight to the professionalism, integrity, and personal characteristics of potential candidates. That’s because the organization is focused on bringing together talented litigators who, regardless of whether they are plaintiffs’ or defense attorneys, share a passion for advocacy, and a singular goal to support the role of litigation in society.

Our legal team congratulates Joe on becoming a Fellow of the ISOB. A former defense attorney who leverages his insight and respect for “the other side’s” role in our system of law make him precisely what the organization needs and looks for. Joe’s experience and abilities have also been invaluable to our clients, with his efforts contributing to more than $600M in recoveries since 2000, and some of the largest results in medical negligence claims in Illinois history.
